Clarissa Sanabria, BA, MA Candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy
Clinical Intern
I am going into my time at Cumberland Counseling with a background in mental health, having worked as a case manager for a non-profit for the last few years. My decision to pursue Marriage and Family Therapy at Colorado Christian University comes from a deep desire and commitment to help individuals and families in need. From a young age, I have worked with families and teens through volunteer work in various church organizations. Those experiences have fueled my passion for this field. I desire to give every client a safe environment and the support needed to live harmoniously and healthily in their environment.
My main theoretical focus is Family Systems, but I also draw upon Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. My belief is that you are the expert of your life experiences, and I am simply a collaborator in your healing process. My hope is to work with individuals, families, couples and any Spanish-speakers that are seeking therapy. Always remember, healing is a journey, and it is one I am honored to walk alongside you in.
