Sarah Hopp, BA
Clinical Intern

Sarah Hopp is a Masters-level clinical intern receiving their MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University New England. They work with individuals, partners, families, and groups from a multicultural-transfeminist, gender-affirming, and trauma-informed lens. They draw on humanistic, systemic, narrative, somatic, experiential, and relational approaches, and have completed level 1 of the Gottman Training for Couples Therapy, and are in the process of completing level 2. They have experience working as a Clinical Case Manager with DCYF-involved families on issues surrounding attachment, parenting, substance use, and lack of resources. They also worked, for several years, as a social-emotional learning and mindfulness teacher with youth in grades 1-10, and enjoy supporting young people who are struggling with issues around trauma and loss, emotional regulation, anxiety, identity, and difficulty in school.

Sarah treats their work as a commitment to collective liberation and sees counseling as a ritual where the client and therapist collaborate to create a safe container where limiting narratives and patterns can be unraveled, understood, and unlearned. Sarah hopes to support their clients in growing their self-compassion, reclaiming their stories, embodying their strengths, and in realizing their truest dreams and desires. They aim to help their clients deepen self-awareness and learn new skill sets, so they can build strong, intentional, and lasting relationships.

Sarah is a good fit for clients who are seeking to strengthen their relationship to themselves, to others, and to purpose. Sarah specializes in supporting those who are struggling with relationships, intimacy, loneliness, isolation, anxiety, depression, attachment trauma, creative blocks, and/or existential concerns. They are rooted in a spiritual practice, and in lineages of mystics, philosophers, and poets (in the broadest sense of the word), and especially love working with clients looking to take a holistic, creative, and collaborative approach to counseling.
