Allison Landis, MA, MHCA
Associate Clinician
Continuing in my passion for supporting and empowering others, I am joining Cumberland Counseling LLC as an Associate Clinician. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from York College of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Salve Regina University. My professional journey began in community service, where I served with AmeriCorps in Narragansett, Rhode Island, through the South County Health Equity Zone (HEZ). There, I taught Youth Mental Health First Aid and supported the facilitation of Mental Health First Aid trainings for higher education, EMS/First Responders, and the suicide prevention program QPR (Question. Persuade. Refer).
Following my service year, I worked as a resident assistant at an inpatient substance use rehabilitation facility, where I developed a deeper understanding of how trauma and environmental factors influence recovery. My graduate practicum was completed at a private pediatric psychiatric practice specializing in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for children and adolescents, and I later completed my internships at Thrive Behavioral Health within the Housing First program, supporting unhoused individuals and those navigating substance use challenges.
My approach to counseling is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and curiosity. I view each client through a holistic lens, recognizing the connection between mind, body, and environment in shaping well-being. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences and move toward healing at their own pace. My work draws on Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed and Solution Based approaches, integrating mindfulness and self-compassion into the therapeutic process.
I look forward to creating and sharing a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow in ways that feel meaningful to them.
