Christina Grasso, BA, MA Candidate in Holistic Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Clinical Intern

Christina is excited to join Cumberland Counseling LLC as a Clinical Intern, building on her foundation in psychology with a Bachelor's degree from West Virginia University. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in holistic practices at Salve Regina University. Christina is passionate about deepening her understanding of the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. Her ultimate goal is to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and she looks forward to continuously learning from both her experiences in her program and the world around her

Christina is a compassionate and empathetic counselor dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. With a deep commitment to meeting clients where they are, she prioritizes their unique needs, ensuring they feel empowered to share at their own pace.

She believes in the power of a strong therapeutic alliance—one built on trust, respect, and validation. By holding space for clients, she encourages individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions freely while receiving the support they need.

Understanding the diverse backgrounds and experiences that shape each person, she integrates cultural awareness into her practice, recognizing the importance of honoring each client’s identity, values, and lived experiences. Through warmth, authenticity, and a client-centered approach, she strives to help individuals navigate life’s challenges, heal, and move toward personal growth.

She looks forward to working with couples on conflict management, healing from infidelity, and enhancing intimacy, using the Gottman Method as a foundation. She also enjoys supporting families and providing parental guidance, particularly when working with children and teenagers.
