Georgia DiMatteo, LCSW 
Licensed Clinician

Georgia DiMatteo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving Rhode Island residents. She works with individuals, couples, and families to help navigate life’s many challenges. Georgia is available for in-person appointments at our East Providence office as well as for telehealth appointments. She accepts most insurances as well as out-of-pocket pay.  

Georgia received her master’s degree in social work from Boston University and has several years of experience working with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and at various life stages. She specializes in trauma-informed care and trauma counseling and has worked as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, a child forensic interviewer specialist, a multidisciplinary team coordinator, a school-based clinician, an integrated behavioral health clinician, and a readjustment counselor for combat veterans. Many of her clients additionally take comfort in the fact that she is knowledgeable in LGBTQIA+ issues as well as issues related to the veteran population.  

 

Georgia’s therapeutic approach is client-focused, non-judgmental, strength-based, and goal-oriented. She has received training in a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Narrative Therapy. Georgia is also working towards the Gottman Level 1 and 2 trainings for couples counseling. She uses a combination of these modalities in order to best support clients on their journeys towards self-awareness and self-acceptance. Georgia strives to work collaboratively with each client to prioritize which issues they want to work on and helps them to set clear and attainable goals for treatment. She also aims to create a safe and welcoming space for each individual, couple and family she meets.
